Each year eOne attends many ‘customer days’ that are hosted by Microsoft’s Value Adding Resellers (VAR’s). These mini conferences are usually one or two-day events hosted for the VAR’s existing customer base and their prospects.

We love these events and they are a great way to renew our relationships with our partners and engage with their customers BUT . . . I am cancelling our attendance at all future customer day events unless . . . the VAR promises to “never call me a sponsor in front of your customers”.

I understand that as an ISV, when I pay to support your event, that to you I am a sponsor. I am in fact by every definition a sponsor. But I do not want to be a sponsor – I want to be your partner. Continue reading my thoughts here.
