Microsoft released an announcement earlier this month that there is a mandatory update for all of their customers who are on Dynamics 365/CRM Online v8.1. Read the full announcement here.
This update will occur on or before July 31, 2018, and customers will be updated to the latest version of Dynamics 365 which is 9.0.2.
SmartConnect users updating Dynamics 365/CRM Online may require a SmartConnect upgrade. SmartConnect 2018.0.23 or higher will work with the latest version 9.0.2 of Dynamics 365.
If you are using SmartConnect 2017 or earlier, you will want to upgrade to SmartConnect 2018 prior to updating to Dynamics 365 version 9.0.2. This will prevent any connection issues from occurring when Dynamics 365/CRM Online is updated.
