The Microsoft update for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online)

For any implementations of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online), Microsoft has been rolling out changes region by region for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online) that affect how the authentication process works.

These changes from Microsoft affect the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online) connector in all versions of SmartConnect.

Updating to the SmartConnect Hotfix from eOne Solutions

In order for your Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online) integrations to function properly with the Microsoft update, you’ll need to be on a version of SmartConnect that is compatible.  eOne Solutions has released a SmartConnect hotfix build for SmartConnect 2018, SmartConnect 21, and has applied the fix for SmartConnect.com environments.  Specifically, here are the recommended next steps by version:

  • If using SmartConnect 2018 or earlier, upgrading to the SC 20.18.1.56 version will allow for the new authentication options to be set.  Available for download here.
  • If on SmartConnect 21, upgrading to SC 21.1.0.366 or later will allow the new options. Available for download here.
  • If on SmartConnect.com, all the latest options are automatically available in the product and will need to be re-configured following the steps in the below article.

Documentation: Follow the steps in this article for your version of SmartConnect to update the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics CRM Online) authentication to the newly supported method.
