When we decided to open up an office in Austin, the Fargo team started taking bets on who would be first to abandon the frozen tundra and relocate to the most happening town in Texas. It turns out that there are a lot of really cool, really smart people in Austin too, so luckily none of us in Fargo has had to start packing. One of those really cool, really smart people is Natalie Schneider, the newest member of the eOne team. I sat down with Natalie to ask a few questions. Here’s what she had to say.
Have any Nicknames?
I was dubbed Big Red in second grade, like the gum. That didn’t stick (pun intended) around for too long. My parents tried to convince our friends and family that they were naming me Fern Betty before I was born but that moniker didn’t thrill the crowd – my grandma attempted to support the decision by making me a bib with “Fern Betty” embroidered on it.
When did you start and what do you do at eOne?
I rang in the new year with a new job! My first day was January 4th. I am your friendly neighborhood Sales and Marketing Assistant.
What have you worked on recently that you’re proud of (at eOne)?
I am just starting to dive in but I’m very excited about a few upcoming projects. Be on the lookout to see my influence in some of the new marketing materials we’ll be putting out.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I’m a creative at heart and love getting excuses to do art. When I’m not making something with my hands, I love spending time with friends and family. I also frequent the movie theatre. The only sport I can play is tennis but my father did play-by-play for the Boise State Broncos so football and basketball are in my blood.
What’s on your bucket list?
Despite having a fear of the deep ocean (I blame watching Titanic one too many times), I’ve always wanted to go cage diving and come face to face with a great white shark. I had the opportunity to live in Salzburg, Austria for a year which gave me a great chance to explore Europe. I never made it to Asia (except for taking the ferry across the Bosphorus Strait while in Istanbul) and would love to see more of the East.
Any fun(ny) eOne memories that first come to mind?
These first two weeks haven’t been too filled with pranks! Getting to know the team has been a blast, the Skype chat has shown me everyone’s true nature. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that I’m waiting to bust out (watch out Andrew & Abbey).
What’s playing in your headphones?
I love listening to a variety of music! I was raised on Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. I’ve also been listening to a lot of Florence and The Machine. I’m a sucker for terrible pop songs and will pretend not to know the lyrics when I know all of them. I roomed with a classic pianist for a time so I can be caught listening to a little Mozart now and again. In high school I listened to a lot of 90s hip-hop (my parents were thrilled). My playlist rotates daily.
Hopefully that helps you learn a thing or two about Natalie that you may not have known. If you want to reach out to her directly, just send her an email at natalie.schneider@eonesolutions.com, just don’t argue with her about potatoes!
